SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The medical social worker employed through Helios Care is responsible for the implementation
of standards of care for medical social work services and for adherence to all conditions in the
Service or Employment agreement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
▪ A graduate of a Master’s program in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work
Education (MSW). LMSW or LCSW preferred.
▪ Minimum of one year’s experience in health care, hospice experience preferred.
▪ Understands hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying.
▪ Experience in home health care preferred.
▪ Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
▪ Current professional licensure in New York State, and valid driver’s license with driving
record which meets standards outlined in Policy: Qualifications of Hospice Personnel.
▪ Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills.
Pay Range: $25.42- 29.00 per hour
