Helios Care’s second annual concert was a big success!
This year’s show featured 15 local musicians and 3 bands, who took the crowd back in time to the classic sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. A night of grand performances put on by John Thompson and the Elusive Gems Band, joined by local artists: Tom Pondolfino, Mary Frances Perricone, Doug Decker, Eric Haight, The Roundhouse Rockers and The Mopar Cams. These talented artists graciously donated their time to making this event an enjoyable evening for the audience and we appreciate them!
Outfitted with a 1957 Chevy owned by John Brooks of Brooks BBQ, diner food served by Soda Jerks Diner, and a silent auction with many great items, it was a memorable evening at Foothills Performing Arts Center for all who were there. While at the event, the organization honored the 2024 Winner of their Compassionate Care Award, which recognizes one individual for their exceptional efforts in providing selfless service to their community. This year’s winner was Dr. Ben Friedell, a practicing physician for over 35 years in the Upstate NY region.
This is the organization’s second year of hosting a concert, the first being a Grand Ole Opry style performance in 2023. All proceeds from this event go to support the patients and families who are cared for by Helios Care in Otsego, Delaware and Schoharie counties. The organization provides end-of-life hospice services, palliative care, bereavement support and caregiver support services.
